The red carpet was rolled out all the way as the Scott Safety Alberta Sprint Tour returned to Speedy Creek raceway in Swift Current for the second running of the Prairie Dirt Classic. Fans were treated to 2 action packed nights of racing as they witnessed a pair of champions make their way to victory lane and a rookie coming into his own. Night one started off with Montana driver Trevor Kirkland setting fast time with a 13.301 in the Better Body Fitness #37 sprinter. Heat race wins would go to #75 Jesse Dakus and #11 Marc Duperron and the Quick Six Dash saw #15 Gord Kynoch taking the checkers. Part way through the main racing was brought to a hault as the #4 of Tim Gee clipped the left front of race leader Trevor Kirkalnd. As Kirkland tried to keep his ride out of harms way the front end finally gave in dragging the car back into the racing groove collecting sportsman driver #31 Colton Akerstrom. Gee, who was running in place of Rocky Borys would hold on to win with #15 Gord Kynoch and #1 Bill Boyce rounding out the top three.

Night 2 would see #75 Jesse Dakus setting fast time as the All-West Autoparts ride set the mark at a 13.161. Heat races would go to #11 Marc Duperron and #1 Bill Boyce, with the Quick Six Dash once again being won by night ones winner #15 Gord Kynoch. Saturdays feature event was wrought with early cautions that would eventually lead to a competition red to allow teams to top up with much needed methanol. The half way point of the race would see AST rookie #44 Kelly Miller having the drive of his young career as he was able to take advantage of leaders Gord Kynoch spinout and control the helm. Try as he may, Miller was not able to hold off hard charging Sean Moran in the #6m and would relinguish the lead as Moran would prove to be to strong. Miller would settle for a second as #11 Marc Duperron would finish third.
